ABU DHABI, 16th November 2018 (WAM) – Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance, on Friday witnessed the conclusion festivities of the National Tolerance Festival that was organised at Umm Al-Emarat Park, Abu Dhabi.The Ministry of Tolerance organised the Festival during November 9-16 under the theme On Zayed’s Approach in cooperation with more than 120 federal, local and private bodies. Also the activities organized by the secretariats of the Executive Councils nationwide as part of the Festival were concluded on Friday seeing significant interaction from the employees of the federal and local departments, as well as the public.During his tour at the Festival, Sheikh Nahayan attended various activities, and visited the permanent exhibition Zayed the Symbol of Tolerance , pavilions of the participating parties, the free studio, the children’s workshops and recreational programmes, tolerance studio, interactive activities, creative workshops and theater of coexistence. He also attended the show performed on the grand theater of Umm Al-Emarat Park amid a large turnout from various groups of society and communities living in the UAE.Sheikh Nahyan expressed his happiness with the awareness level of the society on the grace of peace, love and security which they enjoy in the UAE. This was translated by the great interest in the activities of the Festival and the level of interaction from all sides, communities, families and federal and private institutions, he added.He continued to say The UAE is the land of tolerance, peaceful coexistence, acceptance of others and respect for differences, which have been typically conveyed through the Festival emphasising that the values of tolerance and coexistence instilled by the Founding Father late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan, has benefited not only the UAE, but also the entire world. The UAE, with its leadership, people and all residents, is a global model of tolerance and peaceful coexistence. And we are guided by our wise leadership on the same path, and we instill these values among the younger generations through science, knowledge and behavior. Sheikh Nahyan added.He expressed his appreciation to all the federal, local and private bodies that have been keen to participate and provide support for the success of the Festival, hoping that this cooperation will continue in the long term. The Festival aimed to raise the awareness on the values of tolerance and its importance to the security of communities and to achieve prosperity, economic growth and community peace, he added.Sheikh Nahyan further thanked the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Health, the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments, all executive councils in the UAE, the Abu Dhabi Police, the Etihad Airways Group and all those who participated in and supported the Festival that were over 120 bodies.He also noted that there will a number of events to be held in the next period, including the Cricket Tolerance, the tolerance expressions in Dubai, the Forum of Communities, as well as a large activity for school students in Al Ain in cooperation with the Ministry of Education next Mond In Dubai, the Ministry of Tolerance, in cooperation with the GEMS Education Group, held a grand symphony concert (Love Symphony) in Dubai under the patronage of Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance on the sidelines of the World Tolerance Summit-2018.The performance was attended by a number of international officials and thinkers, along with tolerance leaders in the UAE: Dr. Hamad Al Shebani, Director General of Dubai Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities, Sheikh Mohamed bin Nahyan Mubarak Al Nahyan, Afraa Al-Sabri, and Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Executive Director of the National Tolerance Programme. The team of the symphony comprised the Emirati poet Ahmed Al Shamsi, world stars Tania Kassis and Kevin Olivier, musician Riad Qodsi, and a number of international musicians, along with a number of students from the GEMS Education Group. The symphony impressed and dazzled the audience.Commenting on the symphony, Sheikh Nahyan said that this symphony has been specially composed for the World Tolerance Summit in Dubai, which was held within the country’s celebrations of the National Tolerance Festival. It was performed by an elite of musicians and artists who gather together for the first time to perform such piece of art of creativity and homogeneity sparking the noble human values in all audience. It conveyed values of respect for others, sympathy, coexistence and appreciation for diversity and pluralism in this world in a dazzling festive manner, he added.The Love Symphony consists of four chapters, each one tells an independent story. The four chapters tell that together they can make a wonderful world unlike working individually. The symphony is a message from the UAE to the world, that all of us on this planet strive for tolerance and coexistence, and that this is the only way to world peace and prosperity for all the peoples of the earth, Sheikh Nahyan said.Brendan Law, Vice President of Education at GEMS Education Group, expressed his overwhelming happiness with the participation of GEMS’ students in this grand ceremony, which sends a wonderful message to the world that tolerance, peaceful coexistence and acceptance of the other are the only way to the global cooperation for a better future. He also noted that the wonderful interaction of the audience had the greatest impact on the students participating in the symphony.He further expressed his pride in the fruitful cooperation with the Ministry of Tolerance hoping for further cooperation in the coming phase. He praised the great efforts exerted by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, to promote the values of tolerance, coexistence and respect for differences locally and internationally.
