Abu Dhabi, February 25 / WAM / His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, and President of the Emirates Cricket Board, honored the winning teams of the Tolerance Cricket Championship in its fourth edition, as well as the sponsors and partners who contributed to its success and achievement of its goals.
The championship, launched by the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, Abu Dhabi Cricket, and several private sector institutions in the country, witnessed the participation of all workers’ communities in the UAE.
During the honoring ceremony held yesterday in Abu Dhabi, His Excellency presented the Tolerance Cricket Championship trophy to the United East and West team, and the runner-up trophy to the Laporte team.
The honoring also included Abdulaziz Ahmed Bouazir – Kezad Communities, and Mathieu Bouchie – Abu Dhabi Sports Council, Abu Dhabi Cricket Council, and Al Riyadi Sports Center, in addition to the tournament sponsors, Ateeqah Saeed Al Ateeqah – La’boutil (Al Ateeqah Establishment), Dr. Surender Singh Kandhari – Representative of Guru Nanak Darbar Sikh Temple in Dubai, Mohan Jashanmal – Representative of Jashanmal Group, and Safir Ahmed – Representative of Livecare Foundation.
His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, following the crowning of the winners, said, “We are all winners of the Tolerance Cup here in the UAE, as citizens and residents. We have set an example for the world in how to coexist, communicate, and collaborate for the benefit of all, within a framework of tolerance and respect for others, regardless of their religion, gender, or socio-economic status. This is what the late founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, taught us through his words, actions, and sincere stances. Our wise leadership, represented by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, has also taught us to embrace coexistence, tolerance, and respect for all. They provide continuous care and support to the workers in the UAE because they are partners in the nation’s development and prosperity.”
He added that the workers in the UAE are the cornerstone of its development, and their support and care are among the top priorities of our wise leadership. He emphasized that the Tolerance Cricket Cup is just a symbolic representation of what sports can offer, and the opportunities it creates for communication between different communities, constructive and positive competition in an atmosphere of tolerance and coexistence.
His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan emphasized that the wide participation of teams in this edition of the tournament makes us more determined to organize the championship annually, praising the efforts of all partners who contributed to achieving the noble goals of the championship in terms of organization and audience engagement, especially Abu Dhabi Sports Council, all participating communities, as well as businessmen and the private sector. He congratulated everyone on the success of the tournament in achieving all its goals.
The partners, sponsors, and representatives of the workers’ villages in the UAE praised His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan for his support and sponsorship of their various activities, providing support and assistance to them in various situations. They affirmed that the Tolerance Cricket Championship has become a festive occasion for workers, as it allows everyone to meet, enjoy sports competition, and interact with each other in a spirit of tolerance and coexistence.
