Human Fraternity in Action

The Declaration of Human Fraternity was signed on February 4, 2019, in Abu Dhabi by His Eminence Grand Imam Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar, and His Holiness Pope Francis, Pope of the Catholic Church. This document represents a significant milestone in the history of humankind, as it promotes safe and peaceful coexistence for all people. The United Arab Emirates and its leaders have played a crucial role in this global achievement, and the country is committed to advancing the higher interests of mankind through its actions and leadership. The UAE is a strong advocate for tolerance and coexistence, and it is dedicated to building a more harmonious and inclusive society

Description

To more deeply establish the pillars of human fraternity and its principles, the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence is organizing, in cooperation with the Higher Committee of Human Fraternity, the second Festival of Human Fraternity to be held between the 2nd and the 5th of February, 2022. The festival commemorates the International Day of Human Fraternity by organizing local and international events to promote the principles of The Declaration on Human Fraternity including: peace, freedom of belief, tolerance, ethics, the protection of houses of worship, counterterrorism, positive citizenship, East-West relations, women’s rights, children’s rights, protection of the vulnerable. The festival will support implementation of the document’s principles of peaceful coexistence and tolerance of people from different cultures and nationalities while working together on projects which serve society and the world, ensuring a better future for all.

  1. Integrating work for the enhancement of national identity and human fraternity
  2. Implementing the principles of human fraternity in action
  3. Marking the contributions of the founding leader, Sheikh Zayed, in promoting human fraternity
  4. Establishing the principles of the Declaration of Human Fraternity document signed in Abu Dhabi on 4 February 2019
  5. National event marking the International Day of Human Fraternity
