Abu Dhabi, February 29 / WAM / His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, affirmed the ministry’s keenness on mutual cooperation with Abu Dhabi Police, describing it as a strong expression. He expressed our great pride in the message of this prestigious institution, which embodies the vision and wisdom of His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, who always emphasizes the importance of achieving prestigious global levels in performance and achievement. We also cherish his continuous emphasis on the importance of tolerance and coexistence as fundamental pillars. His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan has consistently stressed the importance of tolerance and coexistence as fundamental principles in the work of police and security personnel in the UAE, urging them to always be role models in commitment to the principles and qualities of dialogue, communication, integrity, courage, responsibility, and strong engagement with individuals and institutions of society. He emphasized their role in preventing violence, extremism, and anti-national behavior, supporting the comprehensive development process in the country, and building good relations among all its inhabitants on the basis of noble ethical principles that promote acquaintance, coexistence, brotherhood, and peace.
His Excellency praised the efforts of His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan to make this institution a source of good for individuals and society in spreading security and safety throughout this beloved nation.
This came after His Excellency attended the signing of the memorandum of understanding yesterday between the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence, represented by Her Excellency Afraa Mohammed Al Sabri in her capacity as Director General, and the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, represented by His Excellency Major General Maktoum Ali Al Sharifi in his capacity as Director General of Abu Dhabi Police, at the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence headquarters in Abu Dhabi.
This came after His Excellency attended the signing of the memorandum of understanding yesterday between the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence, represented by Her Excellency Afraa Mohammed Al Sabri in her capacity as Director General, and the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, represented by His Excellency Major General Maktoum Ali Al Sharifi in his capacity as Director General of Abu Dhabi Police, at the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence headquarters in Abu Dhabi.
His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak stated that the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence’s continuous efforts to collaborate with all state institutions to enhance a culture of tolerance, peaceful coexistence, and human brotherhood within the Emirati society, and globally, stem from the wise vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, who always emphasizes that the UAE remains a model and example in promoting humanitarian and developmental values, alongside its leadership in various other fields.
Regarding the objectives and importance of the memorandum of understanding with Abu Dhabi Police, His Excellency explained that it focuses on establishing a general framework to enhance global tolerance and coexistence, sustainability, and leveraging the initiatives of the Ministry and Abu Dhabi Police in achieving these goals. It also aims to establish the principles governing the relationship between them, enabling them to fulfill their duties within this agreement for the benefit of the Emirati society in all its diversity.
He added that there are many areas for cooperation that we can pursue by enhancing joint efforts in various fields to implement each party’s tasks, mandates, and powers outlined in this memorandum, in accordance with applicable legislation, regulations, and procedures. This includes preparing and supervising studies, research, and articles related to tolerance, coexistence, acceptance of others’ differences, and the elimination of bigotry, and publishing them in the journals and publications of each party. It also involves joint coordination regarding the use of scientific and professional learning resources and electronic databases to ensure the best benefits at the lowest cost. Additionally, it includes establishing a unified index for scientific and academic sources and references related to topics of tolerance and coexistence with others, allowing easy access and benefit from them.
His Excellency stated that the memorandum aims to facilitate the exchange of information, publications, strategies, action plans, books, journals, publications, and research, as well as cooperation in the field of logistical services and material, human, and technological resources available to each party. This is to implement programs, activities, and events to enhance belonging and loyalty, establish cultural and scientific activities and joint community service projects, and launch related initiatives. This leads to enhancing tolerance, coexistence, and acceptance of others’ differences. It also involves organizing and implementing joint programs and activities to promote awareness of the culture of volunteering, community participation, and the tasks of community police, with the participation of volunteers from the “We Are All Police” initiative. The aim is to promote positive citizenship and create an encouraging and motivating environment for community work. He emphasized the importance of enabling employees of both parties to participate in practical training with the other party, and disseminate knowledge and culture to support general security and stability, benefiting all members of society.
His Excellency affirmed that the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence will exert every effort in the coming period to activate all the provisions of the memorandum of understanding with Abu Dhabi Police to achieve the wise vision of our esteemed leaders in enhancing humanitarian values among all segments of society. The Ministry will also leverage the great potential of Abu Dhabi Police to achieve this mission through constructive cooperation that defines our goals and noble purposes.
Al Mazrouei: We seek to collaborate with the Ministry of Tolerance to enhance Abu Dhabi’s status as the global capital of tolerance.
In turn, His Excellency Major General Pilot Fares Khalaf Al Mazrouei, Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police, affirmed the keenness and interest in enhancing cooperation and partnerships with various government entities and developing effective communication and continuous coordination with the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence. He highlighted that, thanks to the directives of the wise leadership, Abu Dhabi has strengthened its position to become the global capital of tolerance.
He emphasized the importance of the memorandum of understanding in achieving aspirations towards enhancing global tolerance and human brotherhood, thus bolstering the UAE’s leading position to become a distinguished center for sustainability of tolerance and coexistence worldwide.
His Excellency further explained that the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters values coordination and cooperation with various government entities within the vision of the wise leadership to promote the spirit of tolerance, making the UAE a role model for nations and cultures worldwide. This is due to the foundation laid by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God have mercy on him, who established the country’s march of renaissance and development on solid principles of tolerance and social integration. The UAE has become a global model for embracing a truly peaceful coexistence among peoples and international cultures.
