FUJAIRAH, 2nd May, 2019 (WAM) — Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance, valued the cooperation between the Ministry of Tolerance, and other federal and local authorities in Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah in supporting the Knights of Tolerance programme.He added that the programme’s seventh edition completed its tour of the UAE and succeeded in promoting tolerance and reminding people of their responsibilities to the community.He also highlighted the importance of assessing the programme’s outcomes and goals, as well as its level of participation and the cooperation between the ministry and all relevant federal and local authorities, to prepare for the launch the programme’s second stage and further ingrain the culture of tolerance and coexistence among the entire Emirati community.He then noted that the programme includes many sub-initiatives related to the family, education, women and the youth.Sheikh Nahyan made this statement while meeting the 50 participants of the programme’s seventh edition, who include employees of local institutions and students of the Higher Colleges of Technology, HCT.During the meeting, which was hosted by the ministry in the Fujairah, Sheikh Nahyan explained the importance of the values of tolerance to its participants while stressing that promoting tolerance is the responsibility of the entire community, without discrimination based on gender, nationality, religion, culture or social class.He also affirmed the importance of encouraging the youth, employees of local and federal institutions and university students to participate in the programme, to promote coexistence, acceptance and tolerance among their colleagues, families and local communities.
