ABU DHABI, 29th May, 2019 (WAM) — Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance, stated that the volunteer work of all federal, local and civil society organisations, especially during Ramadan, highlights the humanitarian values of the Emirati community, as well as its tolerance, coexistence and cooperation, inspired by the words and actions of the Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, which were followed the UAE’s leadership and people.He made this statement during the participation of the Ministry of Tolerance in the Feed and Reap Initiative, which involved many members of the UAE’s expatriate communities and the ministry’s employees, who distributed over 1,500 meals to cars travelling between Abu Dhabi and Al Ain before the Maghrib prayer, in cooperation with local and federal authorities.Sheikh Nahyan said that the participation of members of expatriate communities and the ministry’s employees in the initiative, organised by the General Command of the Abu Dhabi Police and Absher Ya Watan, is proof of the coexistence of the UAE community, adding that volunteers represent many nationalities, religions and cultures, not only Muslims, reflecting a society that does not discriminate against each other, as well as the respect and appreciation of every individual in the Emirati community, regardless of religion, colour or culture.The initiative, which began at the start of the Holy Month of Ramadan, aims to promote awareness about traffic safety, tolerance and cooperation among road users from all backgrounds, as well as ensure road safety and reduce the number of traffic accidents.
